What is furniture refinishing?
Furniture refinishing is the art of transforming tired or dated furniture into beautiful, functional pieces. We carefully prepare surfaces and apply new finishes—like paint, stain, or sealers—while preserving the soul of each piece.
What’s the difference between refinishing and restoring?
Refinishing focuses on updating the look of a piece, while restoring aims to return it to its original state. We offer both, depending on your vision and the condition of the piece.
Can all furniture be refinished?
Most solid wood furniture refinishes beautifully. Veneer or laminate can also be done with special prep. We’ll always assess each piece individually and give you honest feedback.

How long does refinishing take?
On average, most projects take 1–3 weeks from booking to completion. This depends on the size of the piece, detail involved, and drying/curing times.
What products do you use?
We use high-quality primers, paints, stains, and topcoats for a durable and professional finish. Whenever possible, we choose eco-friendly, low-VOC products.
Do you fully strip the old finish off?
Sometimes. For a full timber reveal, we strip the old finish completely. For painted finishes, we usually scuff sand and prep thoroughly for strong adhesion.

How much does refinishing cost?
Pricing depends on size, complexity, and condition. As a guide, small side tables may start from $80, while large dressers or dining tables can range from $400+. We’ll provide a custom quote once we’ve seen your piece.
Is refinishing cheaper than buying new?
Often yes—especially for solid wood pieces. It’s also far more sustainable and gives you a one-of-a-kind piece with story and soul.
How durable is the finish?
Very. With the right prep and protective topcoats, your refinished furniture can last for many years with simple care.

Do you offer delivery?
No, we do not offer Delivery.
How should I care for my refinished furniture?
Clean with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners. Let the finish cure fully (about 3–4 weeks) before heavy use.
Can I request a custom colour or design?
Absolutely! Custom paint mixes, stencilled detailing, decoupage accents, and new hardware are some of our favourite ways to make your piece uniquely yours.
